"To Serve and Protect," Conservatory Water Sailboat Pond, East Side at 75th St.

The Vanderbilt Gate at 5th Ave. and 105th St. provides the entry to six acres consisting of three separate gardens, each with a distinct character. The Italian Garden, in the center and seen upon entry through the Gate, is lined on the sides with crabapple trees. On the West side, behind a geyser fountain, is a wrought iron wisteria pergola. To the North is the French Garden, and to the South is the English Garden.

Cedar Hill is situated just south of 79th St. on the East side of the Park. Dogs are permitted in the Park "off leash" with their owners from sunrise to nine a.m., and Cedar Hill is a popular meeting place, leading to the moniker "Dog Hill."
